THE FARM
1. THE FARM:
• An under-utilized corn and cattle farm was used as a model to develop and create this unique tourist/working farm scenario.
• Tourism is only a section of the farm life, however you will find diverse farming activities e.g. game, crocodile, goats, birds, producing of fodder and fynbos. To sit on the deck at dusk will offer a lovely view of the entire farm and all the activities.
• The farm in the Mossel Bay district is 694 ha and is fully game fenced. The property is situated 9 km west of Brandwag, 19 km from Hartenbos and some 30 km from the historic and quaint Mossel Bay on the way to Oudtshoorn. Hartenbos is a popular holiday and beach resort.
• Sandy clay soils lie in the valleys with more stony character on the terraces. Some terraces are capped with rocky kaolin/sediment material.
• The veld is coastal renosterveld with high proportions of grasses, fynbos and indigenous bush.
• The farm is situated 19 km from Hartenbos, the popular playground for holidaymakers. Restaurants, beautiful tracks for strolls, fishing, water sports and mini golf courses – all part of the beautiful and world-renowned Garden Route.
• Accommodation on the farm is peaceful and quiet.
.
CROCODILES: The Nile crocodile is born and bred on this farm. The owner, Deon Douglas, will gladly take visitors on a tour of the crocodile farming. Please call on your hostess for an appointment to see and hear about these very interesting pre-historic creatures. This is a very interesting adventure.
| BOER GOATS: Another section is the farming with goats. They can be seen from the lodge and though very commonly bred, they make a lovely picture of serenity and peace especially during the breeding season. All small animals are beautiful but a little kid is the most loveable creature. | ![]() |
